About us

Health Guide America is a non-profit organization that focuses on the role of consumers – patients, family, and friends – in health care. Health Guide America is incorporated in Arizona as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All activities and this website are funded through tax-deductible contributions.

Our mission:
Our mission is to advocate for the involvement and empowerment of consumers in their health and making informed decisions about their health.

Our vision:
Arizona citizens are involved, responsible, and informed in their health.

Our goals:
Goal 1: Consumers are informed about healthcare resources
Goal 2: Consumers have tools to make informed healthcare decisions
Goal 3: Consumers are involved in initiatives that affect consumer health

  • Clearinghouse for information on consumer engagement in healthcare in Arizona

Ms. Nixon serves as President of Health Guide America (HGA) and is responsible for new business opportunities, development, and public relations activities. Ms. Nixon also is President/CEO for Your Partners in Quality, LLC. She has over 30 years of health care management and consulting experience in strategic planning, facilitation of focus groups, executive services outsourcing, managed care oversight, product planning and implementation, health claims, and health care quality improvement.

Jutta Ulrich serves as Vice-President and Treasurer of Health Guide America. She has oversight of operations, including finances and meetings. She is also responsible for the website, research, and programs, coordinating the Arizona Healthcare Consumer Connection and consumer education projects. Ms. Ulrich has over 25 years of experience in education, communication, and program administration. She currently works for the Arizona Department of Economic Security in the Division of Aging and Adult Services, coordinating AZ Links, the Arizona Aging and Disability Consortium.
